8/26/2015 Today we learned some basics shortcut keys for Mac computers. Then we learned about file sizes; starting with bits then, bytes, then kilobytes and so on. Then we learned about file formats such as .doc and .pdf. Then we learned about vectors and how they revolutionized design through a short film about the history of Adobe Illustrator. After the instructor gave us some pointers about saving our files and some simple instructions on how to use Illustrator we experimented with making circles. They we were assigned an exercise were we create an abstract pattern using only black circles. I will say my design isn't the most abstract because you can recognize that most of the shapes are in the form of a spider, but as a learning exercise in how to make, copy, rotate, and change the size of shapes it turned out pretty well and allowed me to successfully master these skills. This is what it looked like when I was done.
